Joy
Joy is on my mind today!
Do you ever stop and think about what truly brings you joy and joyful feelings into your life? Living in this ongoing pandemic has really given me a lot of time and space to think about how I would answer this question. And it begs the question, how would you answer it?
I’m sure it is so dependant on the quality of life one has and the access to basic needs, loving supportive relationships, one’s health status, connection to spirituality, how happy you feel in your life and the current age you are? I think our joy factor is such a personal aspect of life. What might bring me joy might be another person’s worst possible experience.
What has brought me joy in this past year has been listening to my intuition more. Learning to practice acceptance of what is, accepting that I can’t change people, places and things. Doing more inner work to uncover the layers of expectations I put on myself or have carried around that no longer serve me, as I have said in previous blogs, choosing love and less fear. Using affirmations that increase my self-love and stopping all criticism as much as possible.
I know Gratitude and the Serenity Prayer have been key in keeping me calm and sane!
It can be a joyful journey, even considering what you might be! Dare to take a peek and delve within for your answers!
