Spiritual Tools
This morning I realized I have established a set of “spiritual tools in my bundle” which I use to keep me moving forward and staying positive as best I can.
As I read from an Al-Anon book titled “Courage to Change” today it had a message that was just what I needed and it reminded me of all the different “spiritual tools” I have gathered over the years.
The message reminded me that staying in a negative mind frame or negative thoughts will keep me stuck. The first thing I need to do is stop and “think” about what is going on at the moment or in the present? Then what can I do about it?
I know it’s really up to me, I need to make a choice to switch from the “negative thoughts and feelings to choosing and looking for something positive”. I accomplish this by taking ACTION!
So I stopped and looked into my “spiritual bundle” and this is what I found,
I can journal my feelings.
I can pray, meditate or do a Smudge ceremony.
I can create some positive affirmations that help me stay in or grow my positive thought process.
I can sit still, calm myself and ask myself the question “what is going on or what do I need to do or know” I will be still and wait for the answer.
I can make a gratitude list of what is working in my life and what I can see and feel I am grateful for in the moment.
I can text, call or use FaceTime and reach out someone to connect with and see how they are doing.
I can go outside and smell the fresh air, or look out the window and be open to seeing something that might make me smile.
It takes effort and willingness to breakthrough the darkness and fear and what I have in my “spiritual bundle” has really helped me along the way.
I hope you might find something here that reminds you of what you do or use to feel well and to remember what you have in your own “spiritual bundle” or it might give you an idea of what you can do if you so choose to add them to your bundle.
